An evening of grants and great historic figures!
Here at Historic Bethlehem Partnership, we had a lot to celebrate on Friday, September 7, 2007. After accepting a $500,000 grant from State Senator Lisa Boscola, HBP President Jim Whildin and Executive Director Charlene Donchez Mowers invited guests into the Moravian Museum of Bethlehem for the opening of HBP’s latest exhibition, Lafayette in Bethlehem. Curator Bonnie Stacy greeted guests and showed off the temporary exhibition gallery while the crowd mingled and enjoyed Granny McCarthy’s Tea Room’s fine catering.
The exhibition, which includes loans from Lafayette College and the Moravian Archives, is part of the Lehigh Valley-wide celebration of the Marquis de Lafayette’s 250th birthday. The reception was attended by board members, friends and members of HBP. Among the over 100 guests were HBP Board Members Peggy Brown, John Alogna, Ray Glemser, Bruce Palmer, Jim Williams and others. Bruce Haines; Sharon and Ed Zondag; Debbie Birkas; Jeff Long; Dr. Paul Peucker and Lanie Williamson of the Moravian Archives also attended.
