1869 Luckenbach Mill
Flour milling was an important trade in early Bethlehem. The present Luckenbach Mill in the Colonial Industrial Quarter was built on the site of the 1743 mill, a wooden structure which was replaced in 1751 by a limestone edifice. Gutted by fire in 1869, the limestone building was replaced by the present brick structure in the summer of 1869. The Mill continued operation well into the 20th Century. The Mill was restored as an adaptive reuse structure in 1982 and currently houses the administrative offices of Historic Bethlehem Partnership.
