We cut it, clip it and lose it. We tease it, shape it and color it. We often get rid of it without a second thought and then, when it’s gone, we miss it.
For centuries, humans have had a kind of love/hate relationship with their hair. Now, a unique series of exhibitions presented by Historic Bethlehem illustrates not only how our attitudes towards our locks and curls has changed, but how hair once was used to address our mortality and remember our loved ones.
