Event Overview

Celebrate the bounty of the fall season at our Apple Days festival and Market to Go at Burnside Plantation!

Apple Days features a super-sweet selection of fresh apple treats, live music, and delicious food — plus Colonial barn and garden tours to share a bit of history. Kids and families can enjoy lawn games, pony rides, and more.

And be sure to visit the Apple Brewery Tent to sample Lehigh Valley craft beer, wine, and spirits.

New this year: Enter the first annual Cornhole Tournament Saturday, Sept 16.

  • Market To Go: 10:00 am to 2:00 pm Friday, Sept. 15.

Cornhole Tournament

For the first time, Apple Days is hosting an exciting Cornhole Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 16. Entry is $40 per two-person team and includes players’ admission to the festival for the day. To enter, visit historicbethlehem.org for registration and information — or contact event coordinator Kristy Steier at 908-752-2291.

Baking Competition

Use your best baking recipe and compete in the culinary contest for kids or adults — sponsored by King Arthur Baking Company. The Adult Culinary Contest will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 2:15 pm and the Kids Under 15 Culinary Contest will be held on Sunday, Sept. 17 at 2:15 pm The contest will be judged for prizes to be awarded to first, second, and third-place winners. Register online by Wednesday, Sept. 13. Registration is free and does not include festival admission. 

Volunteer

Is fall your favorite time of year? Do you love the smell of freshly baked apple pie and cinnamon? Join us for Apple Days! We’re looking for volunteers to help set up and assist throughout the weekend, including in the hay bale maze, making scarecrows, serving sweet fall treats, and helping out in the apple brewery!

Kids’ Design Competition

HBMS is offering an opportunity for aspiring artists in the third through sixth grades. Students are invited to create a new logo for Apple Days. The winning design will be selected and featured in select marketing promotions for Apple Days 2024. Submissions can be made online at historicbethlehem.org until Sept. 14. Finalists will be exhibited during Apple Days festival weekend, and the winner will be announced at Sept. 17.

Parking / Shuttles and How to Get to the Festival

  • Burnside Plantation is located at 1461 Schoenersville Road, Bethlehem, PA.
  • Guests with mobility issues can be dropped off on-site.
  • Parking on the Burnside festival grounds is limited to staff, volunteers, vendors, and performers.
  • Festival parking is available next to the grounds on the east side of Monocacy Creek at the Moravian University Lot at W 1150 Mauch Chunk Road — just a short walk from the festival grounds.
  • Shuttle service is available from Nitschmann Middle School, 1002 West Union Boulevard, Bethlehem with shuttles on loop trips available to Burnside Plantation.
  • Scenic fitness hike/bike to Burnside: Visitors can also park at the corner of Union Blvd. and Monocay St. (next to the Old Brewery Tavern) and take a scenic hike or bike ride north along Monocacy Way Trail to Burnside. Just look for the Apple Days signs at the gravel lot and pick up the trailhead just before the 378 onramp.
  • Dogs are permitted at the festival, but not permitted on the shuttles.

Vendors and Crafters

We welcome dozens of local vendors and crafters from around the Lehigh Valley to showcase their wares. From handmade crafts like jewelry and pottery, to gourmet treats and unique fashion. Take a walk through the Crafter Village to find creative gifts and items!
