Parking & Shuttle

There is no onsite parking at Historic Burnside. Free shuttle service is available from the Jefferson Health/Lehigh Valley Health Network parking lot at Tower Place, 1420 8th Ave., Bethlehem. Limited onsite parking for persons with a disabilities placard is availalbe onsite.

Furry Friends are Welcome

Leashed dogs are welcome on the festival grounds, but they can’t ride the shuttle buses. If you’re bringing a pup, drop your two- and four-legged passengers off at the festival entrance, then park at the Lehigh Valley Health Network lot.

Saturday Ticket Holders

If you had Saturday tickets but couldn’t attend due to weather, your tickets are valid for admission on Sunday.

A Weekend of Fun Things to Do with the Kids at one of the Lehigh Valley’s Most Popular Events

One of the Lehigh Valley’s most cherished summer events, the Bethlehem Blueberry Festival on July 18-19 at Historic Burnside is a weekend packed with family fun from start to finish.

See your kids’ eyes light up with wonder as they enjoy toys and crafts from an era gone by, explore the historic 18th-century farm and farmhouse, or paint their own birdhouse. Afterwards, it’s time to shop the dozens of artisans and craft vendors, indulge in blueberry-infused grilled cheese and wash it all down with a refreshing blueberry lemonade. Then, top it all off with a few selections from the Dessert Tents which offer an incredible assortment of blueberry desserts and goodies you simply won’t find anywhere else.

Centrally located in Eastern Pennsylvania, this Lehigh Valley festival is an easy day trip from Philadelphia, New Jersey, and New York.

Family Fun and Activities at the Blueberry Festival

You and the kids can dive into history while watching blacksmithing and hearth-cooking demonstrations, taking part in 18th-century crafts and yes, visiting our petting zoo at the farm and snuggle the adorable baby goats (Petting Zoo and Goat Snuggling only available on Sunday, July 19).

Little ones will love The Story Doctor, who presents interactive story times that the entire family gets involved in. Plus, don’t miss the wonderfully messy and popular blueberry pie-eating contest – there are categories for both kids and kids at heart (adults)!

Bethlehem Blueberry Festival Desserts

From mouth-watering blueberry crumb pie and strudel with a rich, flaky crust, to decadent blueberry coffee cake and refreshing blueberry swirl ice cream, there’s something for every sweet tooth at the Bethlehem Blueberry Festival.

The event features delicious pies from Vallos Bakery, Bethlehem Dairy Store ice cream and the always-popular strudel, coffee cake, and sugar cookies from Bakery Nook and Backdoor Bakeshop.

Want to sample all of the blueberry goodness? Get the Blueberry Bonanza, featuring the festival’s three best sellers, blueberry pie, strudel, and large coffee cake, all together at 20% off regular pricing if purchased separately.

If you’re unable to attend the festival, desserts can be ordered in advance and picked up during the Market to Go at Historic Burnside on Friday, July 17, from 3 – 7 PM. If you plan to pick up your desserts over the weekend during the festival, please note that you will need a festival admission ticket to do so.

Food and Drink at Bethlehem’s Blueberry Festival

The fun family activities at the Blueberry Festival are rivaled only by the food. If you enjoy gooey grilled cheese, then Taste Budz’s Blueberry Grilled Cheese, filled with blueberry compote, is a must-try. Arrive early, as this festival favorite often sells out before day’s end. Other food vendors include Billy’s Pretzels and Wraps, the popular Thirst Trap Lemonade, Taco Town, LV Sweet Stuff, and Aroi Mango, the first U.S. restaurant dedicated to Mago Sticky Rice.

The Brewberry Tavern is Worth the Drive from Philadelphia or New York

If you’re look for beverages inspired by Bethlehem’s rich history, then the Brewberry Tavern is for you. Watch 18th-century cider-making demonstrations while enjoying a crisp, refreshing cider from the award-winning Bucktail Cider, enjoy a cocktail made with Christmas City Spirits’ Blueberry Bounce, a blueberry-based, spiced liqueur that was popular in colonial America and said to be a favorite of George Washington who stayed at the local Sun Inn; and sample a variety of local craft brews.

Brewberry Tavern passes purchased in advance include admission to the festival, tasting glass, and five tastings. Day-of tavern pass purchases include admission to the festival, tasting glass, and four tastings.

Blueberry Festival tickets are $10 in advance for general admission and $5 in advance for ages 4-14. Day-of-festival tickets are $12 for general admission and $6 for ages 4-14. Children 3 and under and HBMS members are free.

Special family four-packs (two adult and two children’s tickets) are available for $25 in advance and $27 on the day of the event.

All ages will enjoy performances by some of the region’s most popular acts, including Lockman & Purcell, Big Squeeze Zydeco, and the Wonton Soups, at Bethlehem’s Blueberry Festival. New the year are up-and-comer Adeline Csontos, who has performed the national anthem prior to Philadelphia 76ers’ games, and Salt Hill, which blends rock, Celtic, and Eastern European stylings into a truly dynamic sound.

What is the Bethlehem Blueberry Festival Market to Go?

The Blueberry Festival Market to Go is the time to pick up all of your blueberry desserts you ordered in advance if you are unable to attend the festival but still want to support HBMS by purchasing a pie, coffee cake, crullers, or other blueberry dessert. The Market to Go takes place Friday, July 17 from 3-7 PM. Of course, blueberry desserts can be purchased at any time during festival hours. We recommend reserving your favorites in advance, since the most popular items often sell out early. Desserts that are ordered to be picked up during the festival require festival admission.

How do I enter the blueberry pie-eating contest?

The pie eating contest takes place at 2 PM each day. Participants can register in advance on our website or sign up on the festival grounds by 1 PM the day of the contest. Each contest is limited to 10 contestants.

The winner of the adult contest wins a HBMS Heritage Family Membership and the winner of the child contest wins goat snuggling.

What is Historic Burnside?

Historic Burnside is a historic 6.5-acre farm in the heart of Bethlehem that opens a window into early American agricultural life. Founded in 1748 by James and Mary Burnside, it was Bethlehem’s first privately held property and later became part of the Moravian farming system before passing through several families over the centuries. Today, the preserved property includes the restored 1748/1818 farmhouse, two 1840s bank barns, a summer kitchen, corn crib, wagon shed, heritage apple orchard, and the award-winning Louise W. Dimmick Kitchen Garden, all of which are open during Blueberry Festival.

The stie is also home to one of the only remaining working High Horse-Power wheels in the United States and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Burnside hosts events, guided tours, colonial baking workshops, and monthly family programming throughout the year, making it one of Historic Bethlehem’s most active and welcoming sites.

How do I get to the Blueberry Festival in Bethlehem?

Parking is at the Lehigh Valley Health Network offices and a courtesy shuttle will bring you to the event. The event entrance, located at 1461 Schoenersville Road, is well marked, with friendly volunteers on hand to greet you upon arrival.
